Introduction
The First Baptist Church of Highland Park’s Golf Ministry hosts the annual William Humphrey, Jr. Golf Tournament to raise funds to award college scholarships for our student members. The Golf Ministry is the vision of our late Deacon William Humphrey, Jr. of the Men’s Ministry to use golf as a vehicle to reach others for Christ. We continue the legacy in his memory.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and fellowship with individuals through the game of golf. This is an excellent vehicle to share Christ with our community and those who visit and eventually join First Baptist Church of Highland Park. Our ministry scripture is from Matthew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” We are encouraged by this scripture as we raise scholarship funds for our youth attending college, and as we host outings, workshops, and teach others in the game of golf all to the glory of God. We are equipped and called for this purpose.
